Before joining the SOMBY group as a PhD student in 2013, Laura studied Cognitive Science (both B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the University of Osnabrück in Germany. Her interest in social cognition and social interaction was sparked when she visited the SOMBYs for a research internship in 2012. Her PhD research explores how people create and use non-verbal communication systems to support action coordination, and it also looks at the role of co-representation in joint action. More broadly, Laura is interested in the cognitive mechanisms facilitating temporal coordination in joint action.
